How do i remove a old Cricket grip from a 100 year old + bat?
I have this bat and i would like to replace the grip,It is a rubber grip from the 80s, it has been in the sun in it’s day and is not the original grip, Any idea’s how to remove the grip without damaging the bat?
First, I’d do a little homework to get an accurate idea of the age. 100 years+ is pretty old… Are you sure about that ?
If it’s worth mucking around with, and depending on how badly degraded the grip is, you will be able to either simply tear it off piece by piece or VERY CAREFULLY cut it off. (Don’t damage the rest of the bat though!)
If the bat has been well preserved (which from the sound of things it hasn’t) it may be worth something. If it hasn’t it will probably end up as a period decoration.
